課程概述 |
The traditional theory of international trade will be introduced first and served as a base to assess effects of policy interventions, the recent development of new trade theory and regional trade agreements. |
|
課程目標 |
In this course, students will be exposed to the lasting debate of managed trade and globalization from various viewpoints. This is meant to help would-be managers understand the international economy and policy context in which they will operate and build up their careers. Students will learn of theory and policy debate in the light of world events and issues of regional trade, including NAFTA, ASEAN and the EC expansion as well as TPP, TTIP and the cross-strait relations. |

課程要求 |
The class requirement includes regular participation and class responses (15%), homework assignments and quizzes (25%), a midterm (25%) and final examination (35%). You have to stay in a study group (up to 5 members) throughout the semester. Students are expected to take knowledge acquired in the class and apply it to the problem assigned. You must decide which models of trade are relevant and use them to answer the questions posed. The composition of any study group has to be a well mix of ability, gender, nationality and enthusiasm. |
